The NEW Mido Multifort TV Big Date
The 1970s were a monumental decade; the opening of Walt Disney World in October of 1971, the release of the Sony Betamax in 1975, the release of the Macintosh Apple II in 1977, the uprise in popularity of Papasan chairs, and last but not least, one of our favourite case designs of a wrist watch, the TV case. The TV case is a true classic in 1970s watchmaking, and Mido has dug through its archives to bring it back to life in the NEW Mido Multifort TV Big Date.
In the world of watches, vintage reissues are at an all-time high, with brands going through their archives of years and designs gone by and bringing them back to life with modern movements and sometimes slight variations to suit the contemporary consumer's watch functionality. The original Mido TV was released in 1973 via the Mido Multi-Star, and the design was reworked over the years, receiving a more aggressive TV design per variation, bringing us to the latest release, the Mido Multifort TV Big Date.
The Mido Multifort TV Big Date combines the classic design with a modern look. The 40mm stainless steel case features both brushed and polished finishing, with a brushed bezel and polished outer bezel to create depth and separation between the dial and the rest of the case. Turning focus to the dials, the Mido Multifort TV Big Date is available in three spectacular colours: Blue/Black burst, Green/Black burst, and Grey/Black burst and features a slight texture. The gorgeous dial layout features trapezoidal indices at 3, 6 and 9, with the date window nested in the 12 o'clock position.
The stainless steel bracelet available for the Mido Multifort TV Big Date is a talking point in its own right. The bracelet design is reminiscent of past Gerald Genta designs and is truly stunning with its brushed outer and polished center links. The design of the bracelet flows naturally with the shape and curvature of the case and adds to the 70s charm with its elegance and complexity. A rubber strap is also available, featuring a similar design to the links embossed in the rubber.
Powering the Mido Multifort TV Big Date is the latest generation Calibre 80, featuring the high-tech Nivachron™ balance spring, offering phenomenal resistance to shock and magnetic fields. Check out the Mido Multifort TV Big Date available through Canada Watch House for more information.
