The NEW Tissot PRX 35mm Quartz

The NEW Tissot PRX 35mm Quartz

Over the last few years, watch brands have been digging through their archives, unearthing designs lost to time, recreating them and releasing them for collectors and enthusiasts to buy and appreciate. The brand to do that with the most success is Tissot and the re-release of the 1978 PRX. Tissot brought the stainless steel, integrated bracelet beauty back to life in January of 2021 with a quartz movement, then unveiled an automatic version. Today, we’re talking about the newest release of the PRX, the 35mm quartz in ice blue

Tissot developed a watch with a stainless steel case and integrated bracelet, which would remain a timeless design 30+ years after its original release in 1978. Many people question what PRX stands for; PR means precise and robust, while the X represents the Roman numeral for ten, representing the water resistance of 10ATM or 100 meters. While the new 35mm PRX may be smaller than the original re-release at 40mm, the watch keeps the original design intact, even the size (the 1978 release was 35mm), with no revisions or changes.

The PRX is a perfect representation of vintage Swiss watchmaking. The brushed case with polished edges is rugged yet elegant and tapers into the brushed stainless steel bracelet. The ergonomic design is perfect for all wrist sizes, and at 35mm, it’s even better for those who prefer a smaller form factor on the wrist. The PRX is a vintage design still relevant in contemporary or modern watchmaking.
